Photos Beyond The Printed Pages

To help piece this story together, I personally reviewed more than 38,000 digitized photographs from our family archives, one image at a time.

Many of those photographs helped reconnect memories, identify forgotten details, and preserve stories that might otherwise have been lost with time.

As the book developed, I narrowed the collection to approximately 250 photographs. Ultimately, only 102 images made it into the final manuscript.

The photographs below are some of the others that played an important role in helping tell the story. While they did not make the printed pages of Beyond the Finish Line, I felt they deserved a place somewhere along the journey.

Consider this an extension of the book: additional memories, moments, people, places, and pieces of history that helped shape the story behind the story.
